Authorities in Lahore have sealed JS Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank and The Bank of Khyber for violations.
The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 61 businesses, including these banks operating in illegal commercial buildings.
LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 10 buildings in Gulshan-e-Ravi for illegal commercial use. It sealed 19 such illegal premises in Gulberg. During the operations, the authorities also sealed 32 buildings in the Subzazar Housing Scheme and on Wahdat Road for illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.
The sealed premises include JS Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, The Bank of Khyber, Reward International School, Abdul Rehman Furniture, Hassan Orthopaedic Hospital and Poly Clinic and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, supervised the operations. The enforcement teams carried out the operations with the assistance of the Police.
LDA officials said they sent several notices to the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violations of the bylaws and illegal commercial use. He also directed action against land grabbers, encroachers and parking bylaws violators.
