Authorities in Lahore have sealed MCB Bank, Yasir Broast, Dar-e-Arqam, The Educators, The Smart School, and Unique School for violations.
The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 120 businesses, including the Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB) and these schools operating in illegal commercial buildings.
The Town Planning Wing of Lahore Development Authority sealed 28 buildings in Gulshan-e-Ravi, New Muslim Town, Shadbagh and the Canal Bank Road. The LDA also sealed 27 premises in Valencia Town and 50 on Upper Mall Gulberg for illegal commercial use.
During the operations, the authorities also sealed 15 buildings in Mustafa Town for illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.
Lahore Development Authority’s Raids:
The sealed premises include MCB Bank, Dar-e-Arqam Schools, The Educators, The Smart School, Unique School, beauty salon, bakeries, private clinic, workshops, food outlets, and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, and Chief Town Planner II, Azhar Ali, supervised the operations. The enforcement teams carried out the operations with the assistance of the Police.
LDA officials said they sent several notices to the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violations of the bylaws, illegal commercial buildings and non-payment of commercialisation fees. He also directed action against encroachers, parking bylaws violators and land grabbers.
Meanwhile, authorities in Lahore had sealed JS Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank and The Bank of Khyber for violations.
The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) during raids on September 3 sealed 61 businesses, including these banks operating in illegal commercial buildings.
Town Planning Wing of Lahore Development Authority sealed 10 buildings in Gulshan-e-Ravi for illegal commercial use. The LDA sealed 19 such illegal premises in Gulberg. During the operations, the authorities also sealed 32 buildings in the Subzazar Housing Scheme and on Wahdat Road for illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.
