PTI Update: Haider Majeed Released, Aleema Announces August 14 Plan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders have urged the public to stage rallies across Pakistan on August 14 under the slogan of “Haqeeqi Azadi”.

However, they appears reluctant to label “the Independence Day” as a protest day. They adopted the strategy to avoid giving the government grounds for propaganda or triggering arrests.

While speaking to journalists outside Adiala Jail, Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan reiterated the party founder’s message. She, along with her sister Noreen and PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, was denied a meeting with the jailed leader.

Imran Khan, she added, appealed to the people of Pakistan to take to the streets and celebrate August 14 with the spirit of Haqeeqi Azadi.

PTI August 14 Rallies:

PTI leaders have urged the public to hold rallies in their areas. “Carry national and party flags and Imran Khan’s portraits during rallies.”

PTI’s Islamabad chapter has announced that workers will hold a rally from Zero Point on August 13 at 9 p.m. “We will carry portraits of Imran Khan. We will wave national and party flags during the rally,” said Aamir Mughal. He is party president of Islamabad’s chapter.

PTI Karachi division secretary general Arsalan Khalid has appealed to people to reach Millennium Mall by 11 p.m. on August 13. “We will celebrate Haqeeqi Azadi tonight,” he said on X.

PTI Azad Kashmir president Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi will lead the Haqeeqi Azadi rally in AJK.
Large rallies are expected in Peshawar, Swabi, and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Haider Majeed Walks Free From Kot Lakhpat:

PTI Punjab leader Advocate Haider Majeed has been released from Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat jail after two years. Insaf Student Federation members, Youth Wing and lawyers welcomed him outside the jail. Upon his release, he shouted slogans in favor of his party leader Imran Khan.

“Welcome back Haider Majeed. Thank you for all that you have endured for the sake of Imran Khan & Pakistan,” PTI Zulfi Bukhari posted on X.
