Israel assisted India in its attacks on Pakistan in May under Operation Sindoor.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed it during a conversation with Indian journalists in Jerusalem. He later posted comments about the meeting with Indian ambassador to Israel JP Singh and journalists on X. Indian media reported the development.
Many believe Israel has also provided weapons to Indian army and Mukti Bahini during Pak-India war in 1971.
Islamists and right-wing political parties and individuals in Pakistan often quote Israel-India partnership, referring both the worst enemies. Many among them claim that they (Israel and India) pose existential threat to Pakistan. They also United States in the same category, calling them the evil-triangle, or axis of evil. Former US President George Bush coined the term for Iran, Saddam’s Iraq and North Korea.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also claimed in May that Israel helped India during Pak-India. While on the other hand, Indian media, analysts and official claim China aided Pakistan during war.
How Israel Helped India:
A leading English daily website, quoting Indian media, stated that India used Israeli made weapons to target Pakistan’s sites during operation Sindoor. It said New Delhi used HARPY and Barak-8 missiles to hit targets in Pakistan.
Indian media quoted Netanyahu as saying: “The things we provided before worked very well on the field. We develop our weapons in the field and they are battle-tested. They worked fine and we have a pretty solid foundation.”
However, it has not been officially confirmed whether Israel provided Indian army with the weapons precisely during the war or sold them beforehand. Israel is already selling weapons to different countries including South Korea and China. Independent observers believe India and Pakistan essentially tested foreign technologies and weapons during armed conflict between them in May, 2025. As a result, they add, the manufacturers were given a great opportunity to make money at the cost of their own people’s lives.
