The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted intermittent rains and gusty winds for Karachi and parts of Sindh on Monday night and the next 2-3 days.
According to the synoptic situation, a well-marked low-pressure weather system lies over Gujarat (India). It will likely move west/north-westward. Moist currents from the northeastern Arabian Sea are penetrating the southeastern parts of Sindh. A fresh westerly wave will likely approach the upper parts of the country on October 3.
PMD Forecast:
Under the influence of these meteorological conditions, Met office predicted intermittent rain-wind/thunderstorms in Tharparker. (Mithi, Islamkot, Nagarparkar, Chachro, Dhali, Diplo, Kaloi). In Umer Kot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Khairpur, Matiari, Tando Allayar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Hyderabad. And in Jamshoro, Karachi, Thatta, Badin and Sajawal from September 29 to October 2. Isolated moderate to heavy falls will also fall in Tharparker, Umer Kot and Mirpur Khas during the forecast period.
Impacts:
Rains and windstorms may damage dilapidated buildings and structures like electric poles, billboards, vehicles and solar panels. Authorities advised public, travellers/tourists to avoid unusual exposure to vulnerable areas. They asked people to keep updated about the latest weather conditions.
Temperatures:
Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 38°C and 40°C on Tuesday. Between 39°C and 41°C on Wednesday, and between 38°C and 40°C on Thursday.
Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 37°C and 39°C on Tuesday. Between 38°C and 40°C on Wednesday, and between 37°C and 39°C on Thursday.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed in Karachi, Hyderabad and most districts of Sindh during the last 24 hours.
Nawabshah remained the hottest place in Sindh, where Met office recorded the maximum temperature 40°C. Met office recorded relative humidity in the evening 77 per cent.
In Karachi, Met office recorded the maximum temperature 39°C. Similarly, they recorded relative humidity in the evening 78 per cent.
In Hyderabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 38°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 72 per cent.
