Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) seized over 2.38 tons of ICE and 50 kilograms of cocaine in Arabian Sea. The combine value of narcotics is around one billion US dollar.
The PNS Yarmook has taken part in the operation with the support of Saudi-led Combined Task Force (CTF) 150 of Combined Maritime Forces (CMF).
A statement issued in this regard read that the PNS successfully seized more than $972,400,000 worth of narcotics in the Arabian Sea during CTF 150’s Focused Operation AL MASMAK.
The PNS boarded the first dhow and seized over two tons of crystal methamphetamine (ICE). Less than 48 hours later, according to statement, it boarded a second dhow and seized 350 kg of ICE and 50 kg of cocaine. The estimated street value of two tone of ICE, 350 kg of ICE and 50 kg cocaine is $822,400,000, $140,000,000 and $10,000,000 respectively.
According to statement, PNS Yarmook, over a 48-hour period, conducted boarding operations of two dhows.
“Neither vessel was transmitting on Automatic Identification System (AIS) or displaying any external markings.” Both vessels were subsequently identified as having no nationality.
PNS crew has transported the narcotics back to the ship for testing to confirm the contents and subsequently disposed of.

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf commended the crew for their professionalism and dedication.
Admiral Ashraf emphasised that Pakistan Navy remains steadfast in its mission to safeguard national maritime interests while contributing to the global commons through cooperation and coordinated maritime security efforts.”
Royal Saudi Naval Forces Commodore Fahad Aljoiad, commander of CTF 150 lauded the efforts. He said the success of this focused operation highlighted the importance of the multi-national collaboration.
PNS Yarmook, he said, conducted one of the most successful narcotics seizures for CMF. It highlighted, he added, the expertise and collaboration Saudi naval forces within the organization.
Began on October 16, Focused Operation AL MASMAK has successfully demonstrated a coordinated multinational approach to enhancing regional security and maritime safety. Saudi Arabia is coordinating Pakistan, U.S., French and Spanish navy in the operation.
