Pakistan beat South Africa by four wickets in the third T20I at Lahore’s packed Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday to clinch the series 2-1.
Chasing a 140-run for victory, Green shirts crossed the finish line with four wickets in hand and six balls to spare.
Star batter Babar Azam stood as the top scorer for the winning side with 68 off 47 balls. He laced with nine classic boundaries. Skipper Salman Ali Agha made 33 off 26 balls, laced with two boundaries.
Sahibzada Farhan contributed 19 off 18 balls, hitting two fours and one huge six. Match committee named Babar Azam as player of the Match for his match-winning performance with the bat. The committee named Faheem Ashraf as Player of the Series for his consistent good performance with the ball.
Corbin Bosch and Lizaad Williams bagged two wickets each. Andile Simelane and skipper Donovan Ferreira took one wicket each.
South Africa Scorecard:
Batting first, South Africa lost wickets at regular intervals and ended up with 139/9 in their allocated 20 overs. Reeza Hendricks was the highest scorer with 34 off 36 balls, hitting two boundaries.
Corbin Bosch contributed 30 off 23 balls, Donovan Ferreira 29 off 14 balls, Dewald Brevis 21 off 22 balls and Andile Simelane 13 off 10 balls.
Shaheen Shah Afridi took three wickets and Faheem Ashraf and debutant Usman Tariq two each, while Salman Mirza and Mohammad Nawaz grabbed one wicket each.
The three-match T20I series was level at 1-1, with the Proteas winning the opener in Rawalpindi by 55 runs and the hosts securing a nine-wicket victory in the second match in Lahore.
Pakistan made two changes in the Playing XI. Naseem Shah and Abrar Ahmed have been rested, bringing back experienced Shaheen Shah Afridi and Usman Tariq for his first T20I.
The visitors have also made three changes. Lhuan-dre Pretorious, Andile Simelane and Lizaad Williams are included in the Playing XI.
