PHC Launches E-Certificate Programme on IPC

The Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) has launched its pioneering e-certificate programme on infection prevention and control (IPC).

It marked a significant step towards building the capacity of healthcare professionals and service providers.
PHC CEO has written a letter to the medical directors and chief executive officers of hospitals and medical institutions in this regard. CEO Dr Muhammad Saqib Aziz urged them to direct their faculty members and clinical staff to participate in the online training programme. PHC has made available the e-certification programme free of cost for the current month.
Briefly introducing the e-certification course, he mentioned that the programme, developed as part of the PHC’s ongoing commitment. It amid to uphold and improve healthcare standards. The PHC website has made it available the first-of-its-kind online training module, he stated.

e-certificate programme:

“We designed the course to support healthcare professionals and service providers. They can understand and implement the requirements of the minimum service delivery standards (MSDS) with respect to infection prevention and control.” By focusing on essential IPC components, the programme aims to strengthen compliance with regulatory standards. It will promote evidence-based clinical practices, and foster a robust culture of patient safety.
To maximise accessibility, the PHC has offered the programme free of charge for the first month. Thereafter, the commission will introduce a nominal fee to get certification. However, the general access for educational purposes will remain free of charge. “Through this initiative, the PHC reaffirms its commitment to professional development.” It offers the advancement of patient safety by adhering to quality standards.

“The Commission remains committed to supporting qualified healthcare service providers as they strive to deliver safer, higher-quality care to the people of Punjab,” said Dr Saqib Aziz.

Meanwhile, Continuing its province-wide anti-quackery campaign, the Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) has sealed 555 quacks’ outlets. During the last month, PHC enforcement teams conducted visits to more than 2,200 treatment centres.
