Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed the authorities concerned to install cameras for digital surveillance outside all schools and educational institutions in the province.
She directed Punjab Police to conduct mock exercises in educational institutions in collaboration with the School Education Department. And made security guards, entry checking and CCTV cameras mandatory for educational institutions. Maryam Nawaz directed them to register drivers and staff of buses coming and going from other provinces to Punjab.
Chief Minister Punjab directed Police and other law enforcement agencies to collaborate with Motorway Police for security, besides improving digital monitoring and security in parks across Punjab. She directed The Safe City Authority to conduct a functional review of all cameras across Punjab. And ensure coverage of CCTV cameras in every city including Lahore and Rawalpindi.

Maryam also directed them to link CCTV cameras installed in homes and markets to Safe City. She said the government is taking steps in order to identify anti-social elements in a timely manner. And continue combing operations in this regard. She also directed them to contact citizens of other provinces residing in Punjab in order to take effective action against illegal Afghans. Maryam directed DCs and DPOs to contact elders in the relevant areas to compile their computerized record for the convenience. And ease of citizens of other provinces residing in Punjab, besides identifying illegal Afghans.
Chief Minister directed the relevant authorities to ensure that no prominent public place is without digital monitoring. She said,”I will not rest until Punjab is made the safest province. Full support of citizens is also needed for the purpose.” She appealed to the public to keep an eye on suspicious people and activities around them and immediately report them to 15. She expressed satisfaction over law and order situation in the province and directed the police and law enforcement agencies to continue working with the missionary spirit.
