T20I Asia Cup: Bangladesh Beat Hong Kong by Seven Wickets

Bangladesh beat Hong Kong by seven wickets in the T20I Asia Cup match in Abu Dhabi on Thursday evening.

Chasing a decent 144-run target for victory, Bangladesh crossed the finish line with seven wickets in hand and 14 balls to spare.

Skipper Litton Das remained the top scorer for the winning side with 59 off 39 balls, hitting six fours and one maximum. Towhid Hridoy contributed 35 off 36 balls. Parvez Hossain Emon 19 off 14 balls and Tanzid Hasan 14 off 18 balls.

Ateeq Iqbal got two wickets while Ayush Shukla took one wicket. Match committee named Litton Das player of the match for his valuable contribution with the bat.

Bating first, Hong Kong managed to reach 143/7 in the allocated 20 overs.

Nizakat Khan was the highest scorer for Hong Kong with 42 off 40 balls, laced with two fours and one maximum. Zeeshan Ali contributed 30 off 34 balls with the help of three fours and one six.

Skipper Yasim Murtaza scored 28 off 19 balls. He hit two fours and two maximums. Babar Hayat contributed 14 off 12 balls with the help of one maximum. Taskin Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Rishad Hossain bagged two wickets each, while Yasim Murtaza was run out.

Meanwhile in Wednesday’s match, India thrashed the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by nine wickets.

Chasing a meagre 58-run target for victory, India crossed the finish line in just 6.3 overs with nine wickets in hand. Abhishek Sharma remained the top scorer for the winning side with 30 off 16 balls, laced with two fours and three maximums. Shubman Gill contributed an unbeaten 20 off nine balls.
