Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by six wickets in the T20I Asia Cup Group B match in Abu Dhabi on Saturday evening.
Chasing a below-par 140-run target for victory, Sri Lanka crossed the finish line with six wickets in hand and 32 balls to spare.
Pathum Nissanka remained the highest scorer for the winning side with 50 off 34 balls, laced with six fours and one maximum. Kamil Mishara contributed an unbeaten 46 off 32 balls, hitting four fours and two maximums. Skipper Charith Asalanka made an unbeaten 10 runs.
Mahedi Hasan got two wickets, while Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Mustafizur Rahman took one wicket each. Kamil Mishara was named player of the match.
Put into bat first by Sri Lanka skipper Charith Asalanka, Bangladesh lost both the openers in the first two overs without opening the team account.
Skipper Litton Das tried to take the team out of trouble. But he too departed after contributing 28 off 26 balls, laced with four boundaries. Bangladesh was in deep trouble at 53/5 at the halfway stage.
Shamim Hossain (42 not out) and Jaker Ali (41 not out) came together. They stitched an unbeaten 86-run partnership for the sixth wicket. They plundered 46 runs in the last five overs. Hence taking the team score to 139/5 in their quota of 20 overs.
Wanindu Hasaranga bagged two wickets and Nuwan Thushara and Dushmantha Chameera one each, while Towhid Hridoy was run out while attempting a third run.

Meanwhile, Pakistan on Friday thrashed Oman by a huge margin of 93 runs in the T20I Asia Cup Group A match.
