Heavy rains lashed Karachi and parts of Sindh on Tuesday, with experts predicting the wet spell to continue intermittently during the next two days.
Downpour paralysed life in the port city and other major cities in the province by causing urban flooding, massive traffic jams and power outages.

Seasonal low lies over central Balochistan. Strong monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are penetrating the country. A westerly wave is also affecting the country.

More rain and wind/thundershower is expected in Tharparkar, Umarkot, Mithi, Thatta, Hyderabad, Badin, Dadu, Khairpur, Nausharo Feroze, Larkana, Jacobabad, Jacobabad, Sukkur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Nawabshah, Sanghar, Islamkot, Nagarparkar, Mirpur Khas and Karachi. Isolated heavy rains are expected in the lower districts.
Impacts:
Heavy rains may cause urban flooding in Karachi, Thatta, Badin, Sajawal, Tharparker, Umer Kot, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Tando Allayar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Sanghar and Jamshoro. Heavy rains and windstorms may damage dilapidated buildings, electric poles, billboards, vehicles and solar panels. Authorities issued an advisory, urging the public to avoid unusual exposure.
Karachi’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 38°C and 40°C on Wednesday and between 39°C and 41°C on Thursday.
Hyderabad’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 37°C and 39°C on Wednesday and between 38°C and 40°C on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Karachi and parts of Sindh received intermittent rain with heavy falls during the last 24 hours. Bursts of heavy rains disrupted routine life by causing inundation on roads and roadsides, massive traffic jams and power outages.
