Recipe Mixes, Pickles, and Sauces are Pakistan’s top export food products, mainly for North America and GCC countries.
“A blend of authentic taste, convenience, product innovation, and adaptability to diverse culinary cultures worldwide fuels their success. Crushed Pickle continues to perform strongly both domestically and internationally”, said National Foods’ official.
A group of journalists recently visited the National Foods Plant in Faisalabad. They were shown the manufacturing process and briefed about challenges faced by the food industry.
Pickles, with innovative offerings such as Crushed Pickles, are drawing attention from new consumer segments. Recipe Mixes resonate strongly with global consumers as they offer the convenience of preparing authentic meals at home without the hassle.
Sauces have gained traction beyond the South Asian diaspora, appealing to a wider demographic thanks to their versatile flavour profiles that complement a variety of international dishes.
Export regions, Value:
With a footprint in over 40 countries, National Foods Limited (NFL) uses its Faisalabad facility as a global hub for producing Pakistani sauces tailored to diverse market tastes. Rising demand from younger consumers who combine Asian and Pakistani flavours in their cuisines has fueled growth, supported by targeted awareness and trial campaigns across ethnic channels in North America, the UK, the UAE, and KSA.
National Foods’ largest export markets are North America and the GCC. These regions are particularly strong due to the growing ethnic population, rising globalisation, and increasing consumer interest in global cuisines.
In addition, the expansion of mainstream retail channels and the greater priority given to world foods have further strengthened National Foods’ presence in these markets.
National Foods’ export growth has been steady and consistent over the past five years. In Financial Year 2019–20, exports stood at Rs1.5 billion, and since then, the company has successfully grown its export business threefold. This trajectory highlights not only the rising global demand for National Foods’ products but also the company’s focus on expanding its footprint across international markets.
