T20I Asia Cup: Pakistan Down Oman by 93 runs

Pakistan thrashed Oman by a huge margin of 93 runs in the T20I Asia Cup Group A match in Dubai on Friday evening.

Chasing a decent 161-run target for victory, Oman kept losing wickets at regular intervals. They were bundled out for 67 in 16.4 overs.

Hammad Mirza remained the highest scorer for Oman with 27 runs, hitting three fours and one six. Aamir Kaleem contributed 13 off 11 balls, laced with one four and one maximum. Shakeel Ahmed made 10 runs. No other man could enter the double figures.

Sufiyan Muqeem, Saim Ayub and Faheem Ashraf bagged two wickets each. And Abrar Ahmed, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Nawaz one each. Vinayak Shukla was run out. Match committee named Mohammad Haris player of the match.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Green shirts managed to reach 160/7 in the allocated 20 overs.

Mohammad Haris remained the top scorer for Pakistan with 66 off 43, laced with seven fours and three maximums. Sahibzada Farhan contributed 29 off 29 balls, Fakhar Zaman 23 off 16 balls and Mohammad Nawaz 19 off 10 balls.

Shah Faisal and Aamir Kaleem bagged three wickets each, while Mohammad Nadeem got one wicket.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh on Thursday beat Hong Kong by seven wickets. Chasing a decent 144-run target for victory, Bangladesh crossed the finish line with seven wickets in hand and 14 balls to spare.

“Skipper Litton Das remained the top scorer for the winning side with 59 off 39 balls, hitting six fours and one maximum. Towhid Hridoy contributed 35 off 36 balls. Parvez Hossain Emon 19 off 14 balls and Tanzid Hasan 14 off 18 balls.”
