Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) has released its performance report for March 2026.
Punjab Police spokesperson provided details that Punjab Highway Patrol checked 5.3 million individuals on highways. The PHP checked these individuals through the e-Police Post app. The spokesperson said that PHP arrested 612 wanted criminals and court absconders during inspections.
It checked 3 million vehicles checked and recovered 177 stolen cars and motorcycles. The PHP returned these vehicles to their owners.
During March, it legally processed 18,625 overloaded vehicles for axle-load violations. And took action against 22,047 vehicles contributing to smog and air pollution through excessive smoke. The PHP penalized 986 vehicles for the illegal use of gas cylinders.
For public convenience, it issued 26,584 driving licenses. And traced and reunited with their families 64 missing children. Furthermore, it removed 725 temporary and permanent encroachments from highways to improve traffic flow. It assisted and guided 22,675 passengers in various ways on highways.
Police Khidmat Markaz:
In addition, Punjab Highway Patrol provided first aid to 320 injured passengers in different accidents. And it transported 125 severely injured passengers to hospitals. Over 21,990 citizens received various policing services at Police Khidmat Markaz.
Regarding illegal weapons, the PHP registered 25 cases. And it recovered 2 rifles, 23 pistols and hundreds of bullets from the accused. Actions against drug traffickers led to the seizure of 1,581 liters of alcohol, 3,145 grams of charas, and 1,100 grams of ice.
Police spokesperson said the PHP is acting across the province to ensure public service, safety, and adherence to traffic laws on highways.
The spokesperson said the report highlighted significant measures taken through modern technology, effective strategies, and vigilant policing to prevent crime, facilitate citizens, and improve traffic flow.
Meanwhile Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the WASA Punjab Sewerage Fleet Phase-I in Lahore. It marked a major step towards her vision of a clean and well-managed Punjab, claim a statement by the provincial government. For the first time in the province’s history, the provincial government established WASA services across 41 districts.
