WAPDA reigned supreme at the Jashn-e-Azadi Table Tennis Master Cup 2026 by winning both the Men’s and Women’s Team titles.
The 4-day national tournament concluded the other day at the WAPDA Sports Complex, Lahore.
In the Men’s Team Event, WAPDA emerged as champions with Punjab finishing as runners-up. In a remarkable double, WAPDA also clinched the Women’s Team Event title, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) secured the second position.
While in the individual categories, Shayaan of Pakistan Army won the Men’s Singles title. His teammate Noor Khan finished runners-up, while Asim Qureshi of WAPDA secured third place.
In the Women’s Singles, Kulsoom Khan of Punjab emerged as champion. Imaan Hassan of Pakistan Army was runners-up, and Sadia Falak Sher of WAPDA claimed third position.
GM Sports WAPDA / President WAPDA Sports Board Imdad Ullah Memon was the Chief at the concluding ceremony. General Secretary WAPDA Sports Board Umair Aslam Malik and Finance Secretary WAPDA Sports Board Hamad Rasool Bhullar attended the ceremony as Guests of Honour. The three guests distributed trophies and prizes among the top performers.

Established in 1960 for promotion of sports, WAPDA Sports Board is having ultimate goal to uplift the National sports.
The authority provides equal opportunity to all areas of Pakistan and for men and women alike. WAPDA is an affiliated unit of POA since 1984.
WAPDA stated it promotes and popularize sports in WAPDA. Regulates induction, coaching, training and competitions of WAPDA Teams. Looks after welfare of WAPDA Sports personnel at all levels. Prepares WAPDA Teams for participation in National Championships, National Games and other National/International Competitions. Approves holding of National/International Sports Contests by the WSB. And arranges funds for carrying out the aforesaid aims/objectives.
Its sports complex having seating Capacity of 300 person and it established hostel for sports persons of 18 rooms. WAPDA owns ground/ stadium for athletics, baseball, cricket, football handball and other outdoor sports. It owns gymnasium (Seating Capacity 500 person) for badminton, bodybuilding, boxing, gymnastics, table tennis, volleyball and weightlifting. The authority also arranges mat games like judo, karate, kabaddi, taekwondo, wrestling and wushu. It owns fitness club, machines for aerobic and fitness exercises, power sports and weight training. The authority has also established a basketball court, flood lights, swimming pool, 50m international standard swimming pool and facility of warm up pool.
